CLINICAL HISTORY: 41 year old male with lesion in the distal ulna and soft
tissue mass on examination.
MRI TECHNIQUE: T1 weighted coronal, axial, and sagittal scans. STIR coronal
and T2 weighted dual echo axial scans of the wrist were obtained. Area of palpable abnormality was marked
with a capsule taped to the skin.
FINDINGS: Patients palpable abnormality is due to a fluid signal intensity
structure. This is felt to be most likely a synovial or ganglion cyst. No abnormality of the
ulna is noted.
Incidental note is made of a small effusion of the distal radius ulnar joint.
